Za vyzvánění kostelních zvonů a houkání hasičů byla v neděli 18. června 2017 slavnostně požehnána nově zrestaurovaná socha Sv. Floriána v areálu zahrady kostela Navštívení Panny Marie v Břeclavi – Poštorné. Svěcení převzal farář Dr. Lukasz Andrzej Szendzielorz, který poukázal na význam záchrany této samostatně stojící sochy a poděkoval těm, kteří se o to zasadili nejvíce – potomkům rodiny Gajdošů a restaurátorovi Pavlu Doležalovi. Socha sv. Floriána se nacházela v dezolátním stavu. Dříve bývala živým místem setkávání, neboť se zde pravidelně zastavovali lidé po nedělní mši a kladli květiny na přímluvu světci Floriánovi. Tento patron měl obci zajistit ochranu před ohněm. Obec Poštorná vždy žila a dodnes žije bohatým náboženským a folklórním životem. Rozhodná iniciativa k opravě vzešla od potomků bývalého starosty Poštorné, Tomáše Gajdoše. Ten nechal sochu zbudovat v roce 1909. Socha byla vysvěcena v témže roce a je na ní nápis: „Ke cti a slávě sv. Floriána věnuje Tomáš Gajdoš, býv. starosta L. P. 1909, a jeho manželka Marie“. Dnes žijící potomci Gajdošovi se cítili povinováni nápravou žalostného stavu a usnesli se, že budou restauraci sochy financovat.
Jako obdivovatel poštorenského chrámu a jeho nejbližšího okolí jsem se pustil do práce s patřičnou vervou. Již na podzim 2016 bylo nutno sochu zakonzervovat, načež od dubna do června 2017 jsem provedl samotnou rekonstrukci. Díky zdařilému výkonu, financování rodiny Gajdošů a také za přispění města Břeclav se nakonec restaurace podařila. Záchrana sochy sv. Floriána se tak stala dalším krokem na cestě regenerace pozoruhodného památkového bohatství obce Poštorná.
SOCHA SV. FLORIÁNA V DEN SLAVNOSTNÍHO ODHALENÍ,
The newly restored statue of St. Florian, commemorating the ringing of the church bells and the firefighters, in the garden of the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Břeclav - Poštorná was officially blessed on Sunday, June 18, 2017. Dr. Lukasz Andrzej Szendzielorz let the ceremony, pointing out the importance of rescuing this stand-alone statue, and thanked those who had made the most of it - the descendants of the Gajdoš family and the restorer Pavel Doležal. The statue of St. Florian was in a desolate state. It used to be a lively meeting place, since people stopped here regularly after Sunday Mass and laid flowers seeking intercession of this Saint. He was to protect the village from fire. Poštorna has always lived and still lives with its rich religious and folklore life.
A decisive initiative to repair the statue came from the family of the former Mayor of Poštorná, Tomáš Gajdoš, who initiated the construction of the statue in 1909. Nowadays living descendants of Gajdoš felt obliged to repair the pitiful state and decided to finance the sculpture's restoration. As an admirer of the church and its surrounding area, I went to work with proper vigor. In the autumn 2016, the statue was supposed to be preserved, but it wasn't until the next year that I realized the restoration - from April until June 2017 . Thanks to my successful performance, the financing of the Gajdoš family and also the contribution of the town of Břeclav, the restoration eventually succeeded. Protection of the statue of St. Florian became the next step in the regeneration of the remarkable monumental wealth of the village of Poštorná.
